At long last, it’s the weekend! Below, you’ll find a quick guide — based on information from the MTA — to the biggest planned service changes on the city’s subways and rails.

Subway service changes
4 trains in the Bronx
Between 3:30 a.m. Saturday and 10 p.m. Sunday, 4 trains will not run between Woodlawn and 161st Street-Yankee Stadium in either direction due to track replacement.
Riders can take a train at nearby D train stations along Grand Concourse for service between 161st Street-Yankee Stadium and Bedford Park Boulevard.
Riders can also take free shuttle buses for service between Bedford Park Boulevard-Lehman College and Woodlawn. The buses will stop at Bedford Park Boulevard-Lehman College and Mosholu Parkway.
6 trains in the Bronx
Between 9:30 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, 6 trains will not run between Pelham Bay Park and Hunts Point Avenue in either direction because of accessibility work.
Free shuttle buses will make all 6 train stops between Pelham Bay Park and Hunts Point Avenue.
6 trains will run between Hunts Point Avenue and Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall every eight minutes during the day and evening.
7 trains in Manhattan and Queens
Between 12:15 a.m. Saturday and 5 a.m. Monday, 7 trains will not run between Queensboro Plaza and 34th Street-Hudson Yards in either direction due to drainage work.
Riders can take E, F, N, R and W trains for service between Queens and Manhattan. For service to and from 34th Street-Hudson Yards during the day and evening, riders can take the M34-SBS bus.
The MTA will also offer special weekend W train service between Astoria-Ditmars Boulevard and 34th Street-Herald Square every 20 minutes from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Free shuttle buses will be running along two routes, according to the MTA:
- The Q93 will make all 7 stops between Queensboro Plaza and Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue
- The Q92 will run overnight between Times Square-42nd Street and 34th Street-Hudson Yards
The M34-SBS bus will run to and from 34th Street-Hudson Yards during the day and evening, and 7 trains will run between Flushing-Main Street and Queensboro Plaza every eight minutes during the day and evening.
Between 3:45 a.m. Saturday and 10 p.m. Sunday, meanwhile, Flushing-bound 7 trains will run express from 74th Street-Broadway to Mets-Willets Point due to track replacement. Trains will stop at the Manhattan-bound platform at Junction Boulevard.
A and C trains in Manhattan
Between 9:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, A trains will not run between Inwood-207th Street and 168th Street in either direction, and C trains will not run between 168th Street and 145th Street in either direction because of track maintenance.
Free shuttle buses, at nearby 1 train stops, will be running along two routes, according to the MTA:
- Broadway shuttle buses will run between Inwood-207th Street and 168th Street
- Fort Washington Avenue shuttle buses are running between 190th Street and 168th Street.
For local service between 168th Street and 145th Street, riders can take the local A train, which will run between these stations all weekend.
Staten Island Railway
Between 1:15 a.m. Saturday and 4 a.m. Monday, Staten Island Railway trains will not run between Huguenot and Tottenville in either direction.
Free shuttle buses will run between these stations making all stops. Staten Island Railway trains will run between St. George and Huguenot.
1, 2 and 3 trains in Manhattan
Between 10 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, 2 and 3 trains will run local between 96th Street and 72nd Street in both directions because of track replacement.
1 trains will run every eight minutes during the day and evening, and 2 and 3 trains will run every 12 minutes, while 1, 2 and 3 trains will share the local track.
2 trains in the Bronx
Between 5:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Manhattan-bound 2 trains will run express from Wakefield-241st Street to East 180th Street, stopping only at Gun Hill Road, because of track maintenance.
Riders can take a Wakefield-bound train for service to and from bypassed stations.
At Gun Hill Road, all trains will stop at the Wakefield-bound platform.
A and C trains in Brooklyn
Between 9:45 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, Euclid Avenue-bound C trains and Queens-bound A local trains will not stop at Ralph Avenue and Rockaway Avenue due to structural maintenance.
Riders can take a Manhattan-bound local train for service to and from these stations.
D and N trains in Brooklyn
D and N trains will run local in both directions between DeKalb Avenue and 36th Street all weekend due to structural maintenance.
E and F trains in Queens
Between 11:45 p.m. Friday and 4 a.m. Monday, Jamaica-bound F trains will not stop at 169th Street and Sutphin Boulevard, and Jamaica Center-bound E and F trains will not stop at Briarwood because of electrical work.
Riders can take a Manhattan-bound train for service to and from bypassed stations.
J trains in Brooklyn
Between 5:45 a.m. Saturday and 10 p.m. Sunday, Manhattan-bound J trains will not stop from Broadway Junction to Myrtle Avenue due to structural maintenance.
Riders can take a Queens-bound train for service to and from bypassed stations.
L trains in Manhattan
Between 11:45 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday, Eighth Avenue-bound L trains will not stop at Sixth Avenue due to station work. Riders can take a Brooklyn-bound train for service to and from this station.
And between 11:45 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday, Brooklyn-bound L trains will not stop at Sixth Avenue due to station work. Riders can take an Eighth Avenue-bound train for service to and from this station.
