Former Syracuse football star Kendall Coleman has been cut by the NFL's Indianapolis Colts, ending a storybook tale that only lasted a few months.

Coleman was cut when the Colts added Tremon Smith to the roster. He reacted to the news on Twitter Sunday night, vowing to keep trying to extend his football career.

 

 

The Cathedral High School alum and Indianapolis native had signed with his hometown team after going undrafted in April. He joined former SU teammate Zaire Franklin on the squad, albeit briefly.

Coleman started 43 of his 44 career games at Syracuse, finishing with 26.5 tackles for a loss and 15.5 sacks. He played in the 2020 East West Shrine Game and also competed at the NFL Combine in Indy.
