Steuben County residents still recovering from flooding caused by the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby will have a chance this week to gain some assistance.

County officials announced Tuesday that a three-day flood relief resource event will be held this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Those events will take place at the following locations:

Canisteo High School Cafeteria

84 Greenwood St.

Canisteo, NY 14823

(Park on West Academy Street and enter in the back of the building.)

Greenwood School Building

(Jasper Troupsburg High School)

2661 State Route 248 (Hollywood Blvd)

Greenwood, NY 14839

Woodhull Town Hall

1585 Academy St.

Woodhull, NY 14898

The events will run from 1 to 7 p.m. Anyone impacted by the flood is being asked to attend, especially those who have called 211 to report damages. Attendance is only required at one session.

Multiple agencies, including the Human Service Agencies from Arbor Housing and Development, Catholic Charities of Steuben/Livingston, ProAction of Steuben and Yates Counties and the United Way of the Southern Tier, will be there to help residents with any questions they may have or evaluate eligibility for future funding assistance.

Officials say the New York State Department of Financial Services will be at the Canisteo location answering insurance and other state relief program questions.
