The suspect who allegedly shot and killed a SUNY Potsdam student near the campus earlier this year was arraigned in St. Lawrence County Court, the district attorney's office announced Friday.
According to the DA’s office, Michael Snow, of Massena, was indicted on charges of murder in the second degree, manslaughter in the first degree, assault in the first degree and criminal use of a firearm in the first degree.
The charges stem from the death of music education student Elizabeth Howell. Potsdam police responded to a report of an unconscious woman on Feb. 18 and found Howell lying with gunshot wounds on the side of College Park Road in the village.
She was pronounced dead about an hour later after she was taken to Canton Potsdam Hospital, authorities said.
Snow was remanded to the custody of the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office without bail. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for June 13.
