Hundreds of community members and the North Country Real Estate family gathered in Public Square in Watertown Saturday for a candlelight vigil to honor and celebrate the lives lost in Wednesday's shooting.

Maxine Quigg and Terry O’Brien, were killed at the Bridgeview Real Estate Services offices, which they co-owned in the city. They were shot by a former employee, Barry Stewart.

Stewart fled the scene but was later found by police, after he had died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Those who spoke at the vigil Saturday remembered both Quigg and O’Brien as amazing people who loved the North County community and the people in it.

Their families say it helps to know their loved ones are not far away.

“Despite these tragic circumstances, it feels as if my mom and Terry never left. They are here with us and their love of life is present all around us. Please let us embrace them and let us welcome their personalities everyday as we continue," said Kennedy Quigg, Maxine's daughter.

Police in Watertown say a third person was in the real estate office at the time of the shootings, but say they may never know if Stewart was aware that person was there.
