- He fell in love with the area and made music with the use of his accordion.
- His song talks about the history of Pinehurst, its beauty and unique charm.
Cliff Aikens moved to the village in 2008 and said he fell in love with the area and made music with the use of his accordion. His song talks about the history of Pinehurst, its beauty and unique charm.
One day Aiken went to an open house and played the song, 'A Little Bit of Heaven' for a crowd of people. Council members invited him to play it at one of their meetings. They later adopted it as the official song of Pinehurst.
"I didn't expect that to happen, but I'm glad because the song is Pinehurst," Aikens said. "Everyone that's heard it has said 'right on, Cliff! Right on!"
Council members haven't decided when and where they'll play the song yet. They plan to post the lyrics on the village hall website for residents to learn.
