State and local leaders met in Sackets Harbor to address concerns about Lake Ontario water levels.

The mayor says the levels in the village are critical. Not all of them are at flood level yet, but they may be soon.

The state has supplied aqua dams and about 35,000 sandbags, that's in addition to several thousand more throughout the eight counties impacted by the Lake Ontario.

This time around, it's all about being ready.

"Our response this time would be much different than 2017,” said Jefferson County Board of Legislators Chairman Scott Gray. “That we would be more proactive and we would deploy the sources far ahead of time. We're at a critical stage."

Representatives from Governor Cuomo’s office say they will continue to visit towns from each of the eight counties.
