When the Dexter Lions hit the floor, it's all or nothing.
"You have to work really hard and I guess bring your cheer attitude," said 12-year-old Dexter Pee Wee Cheerleader Mikella Klusacek.
This dedication is exactly what helped the team win first place at Pop Warner's National Cheer & Dance Championship.
"When the girls came off the mat, I knew they were going to bring home the title," said Dexter Pee Wee Coach Ericka Natalie.
The win though, did not come easy.
"Hours and hours of working at Matrix and listening to music, writing cheers, then tweaking, changing, and adding difficulty [was what led to the win]," Natalie said.
To be a Dexter Pee Wee Cheerleader you would need a lot of technique, hard work, and killer facial expressions says team mates. These are all skills they plan to leave on the cheer mat.
"Whatever happens, the coaches are still the girls number one biggest fans. As long as they do their best and they have fun that's all that matters," Natalie said.
The team advances to the Globals.
