Five days of deliberations -- and still no verdict in the Kaitlyn Conley murder trial -- the judge declared a mistrial Thursday afternoon.
Conley is accused of poisoning 60-year-old Mary Yoder with a toxin called colchicine.
The jury sent the judge a note saying they will never reach a unanimous verdict.
The judge instructed them to take a long lunch break, and then continue deliberating to see if that changes.
Following another short session, the jury said nothing had changed.
The judge commended the jury for working so hard on this case.
Thursday's decision doesn't necessarily mean an end to this case. The next court appearance is June 2, at which point all sides will determine what happens next.
