The Whitney Point Central School Distict is closed Monday due to the vandalism of 19 school vehicles.
Superintendent Patricia Follette says the damage happened Saturday night, but it wasn't discovered until Sunday morning. Fifteen buses, two cars and two vans were damaged, involving mostly broken windows and slashed tires.
The bus garage windows were also broken. Follette says the district will work hard to make the repairs so students can be transported. She says other districts have offered to lend buses to the district. The goal is to be open Tuesday.
State police are handling the investigation.
