Police have arrested a man in the rape of a woman inside an office on Staten Island last week.

The NYPD says a tipster helped them find 28-year-old Maurice Scott.

Scott is charged with first-degree rape and robbery, as well as a criminal sex act in the first degree.

Investigators say the 44-year-old victim was attacked Friday evening while she worked in an office on Forrest Avenue in Mariners Harbor.

They say Scott entered the building through an unlocked door.

"This happened Friday night at about 6 o’clock. They were closing their location," said NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce. "He knocked on the door and said he was looking for work. The young lady let him in, where he went to sexually assault her. He kept saying, 'I will shoot you, I will shoot you.'"

They also say he took the woman's jewelry, cellphone and cash before running away.

Scott has nine prior arrests, but none for sexual assault.
