WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- Saturday marked the 25th anniversary of an unsolved murder case in Watertown. Tina Hosmer Smith was fatally shot on August 1, 1990.

It's been more than two decades since Smith was shot and killed on Goodale Street, near downtown Watertown.

"It's been a hard time. Sometimes it seems like only yesterday, and sometimes it feels like 25 years," said Tina's father Larry Hosmer Sr.

Smith would have been 46 years old this year.

"Her birthday and holidays are still bad, they always will be. We try to do the best we can," said Tina's mother Teresa Hosmer.

Smith's parents organize walks to keep her memory alive. They make stops on Goodale Street, where Tina was shot, and on Arcade Street, where she was last seen that night. Smith's parents said they won't rest until they get answers.

"I don't care how many years it's been and I'm going to say this as long as I'm on this earth," said Teresa.  "I'm always going to try for justice for my daughter. Always."

Since Smith's murder, there have been numerous leads, but no arrests have ever been made. However, police still remain hopeful to this day. New leads have come in the past few months, with one even coming in this past week. At this time, they aren't leading to a direct suspect.

"There is always going to be hope. We're just waiting for the right person to come forward with that right lead or the person to clear his conscience and come forward," said Watertown Police Detective Lieutenant Joseph Donoghue.

The family is offering a $16,000 reward for any information that leads to a conviction. They hope that one day there will be justice for Tina.
