Con Ed says possible gas leak reports are up since the deadly East Village explosion last week.

The utility says calls jumped 64 percent to about 1,800 a day following the blast, compared to 1,100 or so before.

The company says you should call your utility or 911 right away if you smell gas.

Crews clearing debris at the site of the building collapse have reached the basement level where the explosion happened.

Sixty-six apartments have been issued vacate orders, while 15 others were destroyed.

Two people were killed and 22 others hurt in the blast.

Investigators are checking to see if someone illegally tapped into a gas line.

Meanwhile, Pommes Frites, a restaurant located on the ground floor of one of the destroyed buildings, has started an online fundraiser to help it reopen.
