SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A Syracuse University student may lose several fingers after an alleged hazing incident.
Syracuse Police say the incident happened Sunday night.
According to investigators, three Nu Alpha Phi pledges were told to do exercises outside for not performing their daily duties correctly.
The victims were reportedly taken to Lower Hookway Park for their punishment.
One of the victims claims they were outside for nearly 30 minutes wearing hooded sweatshirts, boots and no gloves.
The 20-year-old victim went to the hospital the next day suffering from severe frostbite.
Health officials say the victim may possibly lose his ring and pinkie fingers on both hands.
Wednesday, Jeffrey Yam, 21, and Tae Kim, 19, were charged with hazing in the first degree, a misdemeanor.
Syracuse University said the fraternity has been suspended, and the two students will be subject to a Code of Conduct hearing.
School officials released a statement which reads, "The University is dedicated to promoting a safe and healthy campus environment that rejects all forms of hazing and fosters respect for the dignity and rights of all our campus community members."
