A man was sentenced to life behind bars Monday for a deadly crime spree on Staten Island nearly two years ago.
The District Attorney's office says 27-year-old Tyrell Brown was sentenced to two consecutive life terms in prison without the possibility of parole.
He was convicted of four counts of murder last month.
Prosecutors say on July 6, 2014, Brown robbed and fatally shot 23-year-old Devon Powell.
About 15 minutes later, he shot and killed 40-year-old Kuwan Collins in an attempted robbery.
Brown later stole a car from another person at gunpoint.
Officials say the next day, he drove the stolen car through a closed-off portion of the Verrazano Bridge and nearly hit a police officer.
Brown crashed the car on a service road and ran off.
He was arrested the next day.
Brown was also convicted of robbery and handed a 25-year sentence for that charge.
