SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- As you may know Syracuse has challenges with infrastructure. The city averages about one water main break per day.

Back in June there was a major water main break that flooded the area in and around Bellevue and Onondaga Avenues. It created a pretty big sinkhole. A mailbox even caved in, but after monitoring the area it appears everything is fixed, including that mailbox.

If you've driven by the intersection of South Salina Street and Brighton Avenue you'll notice there is some construction work going on. Don Kowell, of Granger Construction Company Inc. says crews are constructing a Family Dollar. That location was vacant for a while and used to house and car repair shop. The Family Dollar is expected to open by Christmas.
