Weather Alerts

Winter alerts are appearing across many regions this weekend.

The lake-effect snow machine will continue along the Great Lakes, including northeastern Ohio, northwestern Pennsylvania and western and central New York. An additional foot of snow will be possible in central NY through today.

The next winter storm develops and strengthens with Winter Storm Warnings, Ice Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories.

 

 

High Temperatures Today

Arctic air will continue to spill southward through the Upper-Midwest and into the eastern half of the nation this weekend into next week.

 

Low Temperatures Tonight

Bitterly cold air will drop temperatures below zero in the Northern Plains. The cold air will plunge all the way into the deep south as well. Mild, Pacific air will be in place across the West Coast.

 

Precipitation Outlook

Lake-effect snow will continue off of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario as Arctic air will push south and east over the eastern U.S.

A major winter storm will bring heavy snow, severe icing to portions of the Midwest, Ohio River Valley and into the Southern Applachian Mountains and Mid-Atlantic. Farther south in the Mississippi Valley, severe storms are likely on Sunday.
