We can now say that it’s officially summer in Syracuse! Summer officially arrived at 10:57 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21. The summer solstice marks the beginning of astronomical summer in the Northern Hemisphere.

Syracuse has already experienced its fair share of summery heat so far this year. Syracuse had 6 days in the 80s in April and 7 days in the 80s in May, including two days with a high of 88 degrees.

The summery heat continued into June, where we started the month with a high of 91 degrees on June 1 and 90 degrees on June 2. So far this month, we’ve already had 8 days of 80 degrees or higher.
