Five of the first seven days of the month featured measurable precipitation. We saw 1.02 inches of rain within those first 7 days.

After that, we went on a long stretch of 12 straight days with no measurable rainfall. Since then, the only other times we had measurable precipitation were on May 20 and 24.

So far this month, Syracuse has seen 1.28 inches of rain. That’s well below the average of 3.30 inches for the end of May.

As of May 30, this leaves Syracuse with a deficit of 2.02 inches for the month. Syracuse is currently in the top 10 of the driest Mays on record. 

After a cold front moved through on May 24, we’ve been amid another extended stretch of dry weather. This dry period will last through the end of the month and into the start of June.
