ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A winter storm warning remains in effect in the Rochester region until Friday afternoon.

The plows have been working nonstop to keep up with the snow.

Gov. Kathy Hochul says resources are staged around the state, ready to help with everything from large loaders and plows to chainsaws and generators.

Most schools chose to cancel classes on Friday, making the cleanup situation easier to manage since those cars and buses won't be on the roads.

If those kids are looking for something to do while they are out of school, check ahead, because many R-center, libraries, even downtown skating rinks are closed.

The weather is also impacting flights, trains and buses. You can check the status of travel on the following websites:

The city of Rochester is reminding residents that they need to follow alternate-side parking rules so the plows can get through streets.

If you have questions or concerns about plowing or snow removal, you can call 311. And you can track where the plows are through the city's PlowTrax site.
