Most kids have a few more weeks until school starts, but at Lakeshore Elementary in Greece, a different type of school is already in session: it's a mini-medical school for children.

The Little Medical School is a program that focuses on introducing elementary school-aged kids to the world of science and medicine. They learn about how the human body works, get to dress up like doctors and even get to use some of the same instruments that doctors do.

"Children’s ability to help others will always make them feel better, and as they get older it will make them feel they are productive in their life,” said Jean Celian, Little Medical School instructor.

"I've always wanted to help people but I didn't know how, so I now I know I can become a doctor,” said Mercedes Larkin, The Little Medical School student.

Through this program they hope to inspire kids to pursue careers in medicine or health care.
