ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- A Rochester man who fled to Georgia to avoid capture learned his fate Friday. A judge sentenced Khaleef Reed, 34, to 22 years to life in state prison for the fatal shooting of Sir Cordae Hightower, 27.

Prosecutors said Reed fatally shot Hightower in the driveway of a home on Wilkins Street in March of 2014. The shooting happened in broad daylight and was witnessed by Hightower's sister.

Reed was located in Georgia in April and extradited to Rochester. A jury convicted him in December of 2nd Degree Murder.
