The Rochester Lilac Festival is in full swing and Thursday night music fans will be hearing from one of the biggest local headliners.

Rochester native Danielle Ponder is back home at Wicked Squid Studios and has been rehearsing to perform at the 126th Lilac Fest.

"When I came back, I said, 'we have to do songs that feel very much like our Rochester fans will totally get it,'" said Ponder. "So, "Three Word Revolution" is one I'm really excited to perform."

Ponder went on to say that she will be working on an album following the festival. She also mentioned that she misses the food that the festival has to offer.

Ponder will take the stage at 7 p.m. on Thursday. The festival will also feature performances by other local groups in the genres of jazz, funk, reggae, swing music and progressive rock.

The Lilac Festival typically draws more than a half million people during its 10-day run each year. It runs through Sunday, May 19.
