ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Corn Hill Arts Festival is returning to Rochester this weekend for the first time since the pandemic began.

It's one of a host of local festival favorites making a comeback this year after a two-year hiatus.

Beginning on Saturday, the Corn Hill neighborhood will transform with more than 300 artists and crafters from near and far spread across nine streets.

There's also a wine and beer garden and plenty of food vendors along with live music and entertainers to enjoy.

After being absent from the community for two years, organizers are excited to bring the beloved event back to the public.

"It feels great, we're all excited," said Festival Chair Bill Belecz. "The one great thing about this festival, in addition to seeing all the people in our community coming to our neighborhood, it's 100% run by our neighborhood, by neighbor volunteers. It's a great opportunity to see everyone out on the streets up and out."

With summer events largely canceled during the height of the pandemic, their return this year is helping to reunite the community.

"You see a lot of people from around the suburbs that come in," said Belecz. "It's a great opportunity for people to see other parts of downtown. We're right on the Genesee River. The city just completed part of that river redeveloment. So just to see people out and about and having fun and we're really proud that it's a family event. We have a little something for everyone."

The 2022 Corn Hill Arts Festival runs Saturday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
