PERINTON, N.Y. — Charge your batteries or start your tiny engines. The town of Perinton cut the ribbon on the county's first municipal radio-controlled racetrack on Tuesday.
The T.O.P. RC Raceway was built using recycled materials to keep costs down.
Perinton's town supervisor says the brainstorming for the project came from a popular television show.
"This all started with a Shark Tank. Jeff Nutting brought this idea back where we had our staff kind of come up with ideas and they presented to several sharks that were chosen from the town and one of the ideas was an RC raceway," said Supervisor Ciaran Hanna.
The raceway is located at 50 Cobb's Lane and is open to the public daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The track is also available for private reservations.
Reservations can be made by filling out the park reservation form found here and emailing it to spiddisi@perinton.org. The form can also be mailed it to Perinton Community Center, 1350 Turk Hill Road, Fairport, NY 14450. For reservation information call (585) 223-5050.
