The YMCA of Greater Rochester is responding to rumors that the Monroe Avenue location in the city may close.

The Y tells Spectrum News that branches in the area have been closed for more than 130 days, and during that time, its board of directors have been looking at all operations because of the pandemic and the unanticipated consequences the YMCA may have long-term.

The YMCA is working with its own internal stakeholders and community partners, and says it will have more information to share with the community by the end of the month.
