The Buffalo Bills and cornerback Christian Benford have reached agreement on a 4-year, $76 million contract extension, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Benford was entering the final year of his rookie deal and now will be under contract through the 2029 season.
The 24-year-old corner, a sixth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Villanova, is the latest player from that draft class to be extended this offseason by the Bills, following linebacker Terrel Bernard and wideout Khalil Shakir. The Bills have also recently extended quarterback Josh Allen, defensive end Greg Rousseau and long snapper Reid Ferguson.
Last season, Benford started 14 games and had 10 passes defended, 2 forced fumbles, 2 interceptions and 64 total tackles. For his career, he has 34 regular-season starts in three seasons, 5 interceptions, 25 passes defensed and 4 forced fumbles.
