PITTSFORD, N.Y. — Fans from across the region flocked to St. John Fisher University for the return of Buffalo Bills training camp on Wednesday.
Day two started out with rain, but that won't stop Bills Mafia.
On day one, you could not turn your head without seeing someone dressed in Bills gear. Fans were lined up at the gate before they were allowed in so they could take in the full experience of what training camp has to offer — from the interactive games to the merchandise tent, and of course, the hopes of getting an autograph from their favorite player.
One kid with his family was the only one without Bills gear on. Instead, he likes the Baltimore Ravens.
"I love football, but I am not a Bills fan," he said. "I like [Lamar] Jackson. We have a lot of good players."
When asked why he didn't wear his Ravens gear, he had a good response.
"Because I want to get something signed," he said. "All my friends are Bills fans; I like them but not fully."
"We made the mistake of letting them pick their football team, assuming they would go all Buffalo," said Bills fan Sal Panella. "Our oldest went Buffalo, our youngest defected, Baltimore Ravens, but he is here to support anyway — big football fan."
This is Sal's first training camp with his sons, and he is hopeful that the Bills will win the Super Bowl this year.
If you are coming for day two of training camp, everyone still needs a ticket to attend, and those are claimed in short order. There is no parking on campus. Shuttle bus rides are available from Pittsford-Mendon High School and Pittsford-Sutherland High School for $1. Shuttles start every day at 8:30 a.m.
Training camp runs through Aug. 10.
