Kadarius Toney was one of the best high school quarterbacks in the state of Alabama.

He came to Florida to play the position, but quickly was moved from QB to wide receiver upon arriving in Gainesville.

Toney admits he didn't want to, but chose to make the change rather than change schools.

"I reflect on it from time to time, more on the basis of how it really changed my life in a way because I probably wouldn't be here today if I didn't make that change," Toney said after Florida's Pro Day. "If I didn't become a team player in that way. I think about it, but I realize what it has actually done for me. Put me in position to be successful."

Playing different positions was the story for Toney throughout his Gator career.

As a true freshman in 2017, Toney played in eight games with two starts, one at WR and another at RB. He totalled 120 yards rushing and a touchdown on 14 carries as well as 15 receptions for 152 yards.

His sophomore season didn't start off well, suspended for the opener for not living up to the Gator standard. Toney was still able to see the field for 12 games, adding reps in the wildcat to the mix. That season he finished with 240 yards rushing on 21 carries and added 25 receptions for 260 yards receiving and a TD. He also averaged 22.2 yards per kick return.

A shoulder injury put a damper on Toney's junior year, playing in just seven games.

But he came back in a big way his senior season. Toney busted out with 70 catches for 984 yards and 10 TDs all while adding another 161 rushing yards and a TD. He kept things rolling as a return man, averaging 22.1 yards per KR and 12.6 per punt return, taking one back for a TD. He earned 2nd team All-American honors as an All-Purprose player as well as being named a finalist for the Paul Hornung Award, given to the most veratile player in college football.

That pop in production is what NFL teams are questioning. The measurables are all there with Toney: 6' and 193 lbs. while running a 4.41 40 at his Pro Day, but it didn't translate onto the field in a big way until this past year.

"I feel like they realize what I've done to become a better receiver," Toney said. "Everybody basically is saying see if I can continue it because it was just so sudden that I was coming out and handling business. They just told me keep it consistent, mainly, if I want to have a future in the NFL."

Toney is projected as a 1st or 2nd round pick.
