Greece Athena grad Jori Davis is taking a road well-traveled when it comes to playing basketball.

“I was born and raised in New Orleans," Davis said. "My freshman year of high school,  I was overseas in London, England and then I came from London to Rochester to finish my high school, the last three years of high school."

After leading the Trojans to three Section V titles, she enjoyed a standout career at Indiana University. Drafted into the WNBA, Davis eventually took her game to Europe where she's been ever since.

“I've been in six countries overseas, and truthfully, one of my passions is to share that story more," Davis said. "I truthfully believe that athletes that are overseas, we are the more well-rounded, elite athletes I say because we've had to go through so many challenges of going to different countries every year, different languages, dealing with different cultures, also doing it all on our own in some cases. You don't have your family, friends and a big fan base like you had at college."

Now in her tenth season playing professionally, Davis has made it her business to assist other American athletes overseas through a website she created.

"Wevolv.net - that's the website," she said. "It's about creating and uniting the collective, so getting us all in one place and so we can share information. So, we can mentor easily, so the next generation of potential pros from Rochester, they don't have to find a number, figure out 'how can I connect with Jori?' Jori is right here. My goal now is continue to be a mentor, continue to be the bridge of cultures and souls. That's what I think is one of my super powers, is being able to connect individuals."

She’s currently playing for six-time Greek Women's League champion Olympiacos.
