Cory Smith is a meteorologist with Spectrum News 1 currently in Buffalo, NY.  

Cory grew up in Tampa, Florida. Hurricanes that impacted the state sparked his interest in weather at a young age. In 2009, he moved to Charlotte, NC and experienced real seasons for the first time. While there, he graduated with a B.S. in meteorology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Since 2018, Cory has worked in Parkersburg, WV, Lafayette, LA, Columbia, SC, and Memphis, TN. During this time, he has reported in and covered major hurricanes, tornado outbreaks, and even a few snowstorms. He hopes to take all of this experience and create the best forecast in New York for his entire audience.  

Outside of work, Cory loves to watch sports. He is a Tampa Bay Rays and Carolina Panthers fan. When not watching sports, he likes to explore and take photographs of the world around him.
