Halena Sepulveda joined the Spectrum News 1 team as a reporter in June 2022 and immediately felt right at home. 

Halena was born in Youngstown, Ohio. She graduated from Kent State University in 2022 where she reported and anchored for TV2, Kent State’s student media network.

One of the things Halena enjoys most about her role as a journalist is learning about her community and connecting with people through their stories. One of the most meaningful stories Halena worked on was an interview she did with Tamika Palmer, the mother of Breonna Taylor. 

Halena is new to the Rochester area and when she’s not in the newsroom she enjoys spending time exploring her new home. She likes to visit the public market and look for the best food spots in town.
