Mary McCombs can be seen reporting on TWC News.
After taking a break from broadcasting, Mary returned to Rochester, N.Y. television with a part-time reporting job with us beginning in June 2004.
Mary has enjoyed a long career in both radio and TV news. Her award-winning broadcasting career began while she was still a student at Syracuse University. She worked part-time at Rochester radio stations WHAM and WVOR.
In 1984, Mary landed her first TV anchor/reporter position at WIXT-TV, the ABC affiliate in Syracuse, where she earned the 1986 Media Award from the Professional Insurance Agents. That led to an anchor position at then top-rated WKBW-TV, the ABC affiliate in Buffalo. While in Buffalo, she earned an award from the Hospital Association of New York State for a series of medical reports.
Mary returned to her hometown of Greece when she signed on with WOKR-13 in 1991. Mary left that full-time position 10 years later to raise her daughter.
Mary resides in Irondequoit with her husband, Dr. Joseph Carbone, and their daughter, Roma.
Mary is active with her church, and she has served as Mistress of Ceremonies in Irondequoit's annual Independence Day parade.
