The Rochester Police Department says a third person injured in a stampede at a rap concert on Sunday has died.
Police said in a statement Thursday that 35-year-old Aisha Stephens, of Syracuse, died on Wednesday.
According to the RPD, Rhondesia Belton, 33, of Buffalo, and Brandy Miller, 35, of Rochester, died from their injuries earlier this week.
The RPD says all three women were trampled by panicked fans rushing toward the exits at the Main Street Armory. Seven additional people were treated at area hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators said the stampede was sparked by what fans thought were the sounds of gunshots, however, no evidence of gunfire has been found.
The concert featured Memphis-based rappers GloRilla and Finesse2tymes.
On Wednesday, RPD Chief David Smith signed an order to deny the venue's application for the renewal of its entertainment license, meaning it will not be allowed to host public entertainment events until an investigation into the incident concludes.
"We felt it prudent that we not allow events to continue and risk a repetition or repeat of what happened Sunday," said Smith. "The bottom line is lives were lost. "We need to take steps to make sure no lives are lost in the future if this indeed was something that was preventable."
The city of Rochester announced earlier this week that a concert scheduled for this coming Saturday has been canceled.
