ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The United Christian Leadership Ministry is calling for Rochester City Council to approve the purchase of software that it says can increase public safety.

Advocates for Benchmark Analytics First Sign Early Intervention software claim the platform would help Rochester police better track officer behavior and predict future behavior. That ranges from positive interactions with the community to the use of force.

"One of the things this software is good at doing is tracking patterns," said UCLM Chair Alex White.

UCLM says the software could save the city millions of dollars by identifying problem officers before a destructive interaction with the public happens.

City council will vote on the proposal this week.
