ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Gun violence and its effect on young people in Rochester are top of mind for the Evans administration.
Spectrum News 1 anchor Jim Aroune spent time with Mayor Malik Evans one-on-one as he rounds out his first year in office.
As for creating opportunities for young people, Evans and his team are doing so as the Rochester City School District faces unprecedented leadership and staffing challenges.
Evans says he will not intervene in the district when it comes to who runs it, but he says he needs schools and families to step up for the city's future.
