GENEVA, N.Y. — Several fire companies from across the Fingers Lakes responded to a massive fire at the popular Three Brothers Wineries and Estates in Geneva on Monday evening.

The company says it was the Bagg Dare Wine Co. building that caught fire at the back of the property. The Ovid Fire department says the building is a total loss.

According to the Ovid Fire Department, all the fire departments in Seneca County had to help put out the flames, as well as departments from Ontario, Tompkins and Wayne counties.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. No one was in the building at the time and the Ovid Fire Department says there were no injuries.

When the business shared the news on its Facebook page, it received an outpouring of support. Hundreds of customers, visitors and wine lovers shared their sympathies over the tragedy and many even offered their help.

The president of Three Brothers spoke with Spectrum News 1 on Tuesday and explained how they are moving forward.

"We're grateful," said Erica Paolicelli, winery president. "We have been through a lot these past couple of years with COVID and you know. our Supporters have been there for us through thick and thin. So it wasn't surprising but it was encouraging that we're gonna wake up today and just figure it out."

The business is following its usual schedule being closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. It says it will provide updates as it learns more.
