HENRIETTA, N.Y. — Monroe County Sheriff's Deputies will be at Rush-Henrietta High School and Webster Learning Center on Friday after what investigators call a vague threat. Both locations are on Lehigh Station Road.

Deputies responded to the high school on Thursday to speak with staff members regarding a fight between two students that took place earlier in the day. Investigators say the threat was posted to social media after the fight ended.

Deputies are being posted at the two locations on Friday out of an abundance of caution.

The sheriff's office released a statement Thursday night saying in part:

"Rush-Henrietta families and staff can rest assured that school leadership and the MCSO are doing everything they can to continue to provide a safe school environment. Rush-Henrietta Principal Dr. Shafer, school district officials, and the MCSO are actively working together to ensure the safety of all."

Officials say there is a possibility of criminal charges being filed in this case.

Anyone with information that could help the investigation is asked to call 911 and request to speak with a deputy.
