ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Police Department say a mother has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of her 3-month-old daughter.

Authorities say Mabel Enid Rosado-Delgado of Rochester drove her daughter, Karen Victoria Castro-Rosado, to Rochester General Hospital on Sunday, with the child appearing to be deceased and suffering from severe trauma. The child was pronounced dead 30 minutes later after medical staff attempted life-saving measures.

The Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the infant's death as a homicide due to blunt force trauma.

Rosado-Delgado will be arraigned in Rochester City Court Wednesday, June 23 at 9:30 a.m.
