ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police are investigating a double shooting that killed a teenager on Genesee Street Saturday afternoon.

Police say they were called to the intersection of Genesee and Earl Street around 1:30 p.m. That's when they found a male teenager who had been shot. He was pronounced dead later at Strong Memorial Hospital. Police have not yet identified the victim.

Officers say a second victim, a 14-year-old male, showed up to the hospital via a private vehicle. His injuries are non-life threatening.

Police say the two victims were walking down Genesee Street when an unknown suspect or suspects shot at them multiple times.

Rochester Police Captain Frank Umbrino says enough is enough.

"The community has to step up," Umbrino said. "The community has to express their disgust in this behavior to each other and there are community members taking part in this behavior. The outrage needs to go to the people who are doing it. That's where the outrage needs to go both from our city leaders and the other community members. We know who the people are doing it. They get locked up and they get let out. We need to focus our outrage on the people that are committing there heinous acts where like today two teenagers are walking down the street and get shot."

Police say the two victims knew each other.

If you have any information on the shooting, police encourage you to call 911.
