IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. — Irondequoit police say a body that was discovered over the weekend is that of a missing man.
According to the department, officers responded to Helendale Road around 3:15 p.m. on Saturday for the discovery of a deceased person. On Monday, the department confirmed the body to be that of 65-year-old Edward Boucher.
Boucher was reported missing to the Brighton Police Department on Friday. His 2020 Audi R8 was discovered unoccupied on a residential street in Irondequoit. The Monroe County medical examiner's office is working to determine the cause of death, but police say Boucher's death is suspicious.
Irondequoit police and state police are currently interviewing witnesses and persons of interest in the case. Investigators say they will release more information when it becomes available.
Geva Theater says he was a trustee of the theater, and that the Geva community is mourning his death.
The theater added that the entire Boucher family has been a "bedrock" over the years among Geva supporters.
Anyone with information in the case is urged to contact the Irondequoit Police Department.
