A law was introduced at the Monroe County Legislature meeting Tuesday night which aims to address the recent use of illegal dirt bikes and ATVs on county and city roadways.

The law is called “Operation of Off-Road Vehicles on Public Highways in Monroe County." Black and Asian Democratic Caucus Leader Ernest Flagler-Mitchell says the law would give deputies and police the protocols to take illegal vehicles off the streets.

The legislation was tabled and a public hearing is set for May 11. It will then be voted on.
