ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A memorial service for the three soldiers killed in a helicopter crash last month will now take place on Friday.

The New York Army National Guard will hold the service at its flight facility at the Rochester Airport.

It's meant to honor the service and sacrifices of chief warrant officers Steven Skoda, Christian Koch, and Daniel Prial, who died after their Black Hawk chopper went down in a field in Mendon on January 20.

The ceremony will include personal reflections, scripture readings and a silent roll call.

It will be closed to the public, but Spectrum News will be in attendance.
