SOUTH BRISTOL, N.Y. — Staff members at Bristol Mountain had to rescue a skier who somehow came out of the chairlift and was dangling above the slope over the weekend.
Video sent to Spectrum News by a viewer shows the incident unfold Sunday night.
Bristol says it has catch tarps at each chair lift designed for this type of situation.
Rescuers put out the tarp and caught the girl when she let go. Officials at the ski resort say as far as they know, the girl is fine.
Bristol Mountain plans to do its own internal investigation into the incident.
