GREECE, N.Y. — Police are investigating a report of multiple shots fired in one Greece neighborhood.

Police say they received multiple 911 calls around 2:25 a.m. on Friday from people in the area of Arcadia Parkway.

When officers arrived, they say a neighbor flagged them down and told them her home had been struck by something.

Police closed down streets in the area and alerted residents to shelter in place.

According to police, they were unsure at first whether there was actual gunfire or someone had set off fireworks. However, police tell Spectrum News a witness reported seeing a muzzle flash. Investigators now say they are confident gunfire was involved.

Through their investigation, officers narrowed down the source of the gunshots to one home. They say they were able to contact the people inside and get them to come out of the house.

Currently, they believe one person was responsible for firing the shots and that individual is being interviewed. Police did not say whether any firearms have been located.

No one was hurt in the incident.
