ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A new partnership in the North Clinton Avenue neighborhood aims to help clean up area streets while offering resources to anyone struggling with addiction.

Volunteers with C.A.R.E. Rochester helped pick up used syringes at locations around the neighborhood.

C.A.R.E. Rochester is comprised of the Father Laurence Tracy Advocacy Center, the Ibero-American Action League, and Trillium Health, the latter of which has hired two full-time employees solely dedicated to picking up those used needles in the neighborhood.

"One syringe on the ground is one too many and the residents have spoken loud and clear that they want to find new innovative ways to partner with not only with the city, not only with Ibero, but with Trillium Health who has a long-standing relationship in this community serving the community and folks in active addiction," said Miguel Melendez, Jr., at-large councilmember.

The partnership has also launched a new website, which is now online.

North Clinton residents can go to CareRochester.org to see when cleanups are scheduled and suggest places in need of attention.
