A Brighton family was left without a home following a fire that broke out Wednesday evening.

Heat and high winds made it difficult for firefighters to stop the blaze on Rock Hill Road.

A neighbor called in the fire to 911.

"It just kept on growing and growing and I was so scared because there is a girl younger than me in there that I know and a family with like pets and it's just so scary because now they've lost everything and I just hope they're all right," said Venus Khanna of Brighton.

No one was hurt and the Red Cross is helping the family.

The cause of the fire has not been released.
