Governor Cuomo is commending Albion school officials and members of law enforcement from multiple agencies for thwarting what he says was a credible threat against Albion Middle School.

In a statement Friday, the governor reiterated that there "zero tolerance for violence in our schools. I will do everything in my power as Governor to keep our children and our teachers safe. And I want to be crystal clear: any person posing a threat to our schools will face the harshest possible penalty under the law — whether or not they intend to actually execute that threat."

Three students were removed from the school while the district investigated the threats, which it says were posted to the online gaming app "Discord" last week.

The threats forced the district to delay school. Classes have since returned to normal.

There has been no word yet on what punishment the students may face.
