The Genesee County Sheriff's Office is investigating a home invasion that ended with the homeowner shooting the suspect.
The break-in happened Tuesday night in Stafford.
Deputies say Charles Cooper, of Lodi, in Seneca County, entered the home armed around 9 p.m. and demanded money. Police say the homeowner grabbed a rifle and shot Cooper.
He was taken to a Rochester hospital for treatment where he remains in critical condition.
Police say Cooper will face charges.
