PITTSFORD, N.Y. — It's looking like marijuana dispensaries will not be coming to Pittsford.

Residents voted "no" on the referendum, shooting it down 143 to 98. They also voted against marijuana lounges.

Official results will be released in a week after they count absentee ballots.

"I'm just glad the public is weighing in on this," said Pittsford Mayor Alysa Plummer. "I think it's really important. And in fact, the entire board of trustees thinks that this was important that we shouldn't just as a group of five elected officials make that decision for our village and so I think this is a positive thing."

The town of Pittsford previously opted out of allowing both retail dispensaries and lounges last year.
